Kelly-Anne Walsh, 42, returned to Wodonga Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with pinching charity donation tins and tip jars from a handful of Wodonga businesses in 2018 and 2019.
Magistrate Ian Watkins labelled the thefts a "pretty low act" to be stealing charity tins and tip jars.
"It just goes to show how low your life was at that point," he said.
The court heard Walsh was "pretty heavily involved" in the local drug scene but has been clean since being released from prison.
Police prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Geoff Nicholls said Walsh was captured on multiple CCTV cameras taking the items.

"On September 2, 2018 the accused was at the APCO in Wangaratta, she asked for some cigarettes from the counter and when the worker turned her back the accused took the charity tin on the counter and left the store," he said.
"Her co-accused was waiting around the corner in a car. They then drove to the Railway Hotel in Wangaratta and took a charity tin from the bar with around $45 inside."
On June 27, 2019 Walsh also took a tip jar with around $50 inside from Elgin's Hotel in Wodonga after pretending to use the bathroom facilities.
"CCTV footage captured the accused taking the tip jar," Leading Senior Constable Nicholls said.
The court also heard Walsh shoved a bottle of Jack Daniels down her pants at a BWS store on June 15, 2019 and left without paying.
She was also convicted of stealing multiple items from Kmart before trying to return them for a store credit.
Mr Watkins convicted and fined Walsh $650.
"I really hope you have turned your life around," he said.
Walsh was sent to prison for one month in 2018 for similar crimes including stealing charity tins and tip jars from Wodonga businesses.
Walsh told Mr Watkins she now tries to donate to charity tins around town each time she is paid.
