Defender Douthie announced his retirement after the club's shock grand final loss to Lavington last year and had signed as assistant-midfield coach for Edithvale Aspendale in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League this year, until COVID-19 forced its cancellation.
"After having the year off, my body feels refreshed, so I thought, 'why not'?," he said.
The 33-year-old battled a number of injuries last year, including a torn meniscus (knee), which curtailed his influence.
