The ute driver, 63, died at the scene after his vehicle flipped onto its roof and caught alight.
Egan, who appeared before Albury Local Court on Monday on a video link from Bathurst, pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving occasioning death while driving under the influence, and counts of drug possession, making false work diary entries, exceeding maximum driving times and other offences.

He was also injured in the crash and was airlifted from the scene, with his truck crashing off a bridge.
The most serious charges will go to the Albury District Court for sentencing, with the case to be mentioned on November 27.
Offences which only carry a fine will return to the local court on December 14.
