Having only his second career start, Yes Sir broke through in the $23,000 3YO Maiden Plate, (1200m) with Ben Allen aboard.
Allen produced the perfect ride on Yes Sir after settling behind the leader and peeling of its back at the top of the straight.
Yes Sir ($3.50) quickly shot out to a race winning lead and had a half-a-length to spare on his rivals at the finish.
Chris Ledger said Yes Sir was unlucky not to win on debut at Echuca earlier this month after he got poleaxed at the start.
"We were really happy with his debut performance," Ledger said.
"He got squeezed out at the start which caused him to settle at the tail of the field.
"But we thought he would race a lot more prominent today after drawing the inside barrier.
"Ben rode the horse well and I think the second and third are nice horses in the making."
Yes Sir is a son of Magnus who is also the sire of slick sprinters News Girl and Front Page who are trained by Geoff Duryea.
The Ledger stable made it a winning double after Smart Design notched his second win in three starts.
Apprentice jockey Campbell Rawiller pounced on the early lead and rated Smart Design to perfection in the $22,000 Class One Hcp, (1100m).
Chris Ledger said the emerging sprinter could be suited in the sprint series at Moonee Valley in the right class for his next start.
