Alexander, 22, made a name for himself with a brilliant grand final performance in 2017 and was pursed by several Ovens and Murray clubs.
He then suffered a serious leg injury and missed 2018 before returning with 38 goals last year.
Alexander's girlfriend Courtney Menzies is a former talented Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong netballer who has been playing for Osborne.
Lions chairman of selectors David Rava said Alexander and young gun Riley Corbett would be a powerful forward combination.
"We'll have the option of swapping them around a little bit," Rava said.
"George is also someone who has a pretty good tank so if you need someone with a bigger body to pinch hit in the middle, he's someone we could lean on for that as well."
Osborne, who played in the AFL Riverina Championship this year after the Hume league season was abandoned due to coronavirus, will regain Azzi medallist Jamie Parr from injury and is eyeing several other recruits.
The Tigers will start the 2021 season as favourites after blooding some outstanding youngsters.
