Joseph Alexander Peter Walker's offending, Albury Local Court has heard, involved two deceptions totalling $8658.20.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Defence lawyer Tim Hemsley told magistrate Richard Funston that Walker "was drug-affected at the time".
Walker had paid $1500 to "an unknown person" on February 1, 2018, in exchange for an invoice from Canberra anaethetist Dr Danny-Glen Raiz.
He amended the invoice, adding the name, personal details and bank account of his girlfriend, resulting in a $4328.95 refund.
Walker did this again in his own name for a further $4329.25 refund.
Mr Funston sentenced Walker, who pleaded guilty, to a six-month intensive corrections order.
