Winemakers of Rutherglen has launched Rutherglen in the City - Re-Imagined for the first time this spring amid the coronavirus crisis.

Winemakers of Rutherglen executive officer Annalee Nolan said the virtual campaign built on the already successful Rutherglen in the City brand.

She said Rutherglen in the City - Re-Imagined offered an online Rutherglen Wine Shop now and a series of talks and masterclasses next month.

"We already had a strong event brand with Rutherglen in the City, which has run in Melbourne and Canberra and then Albury for the first time last year," she said.

"Canberra has been a strong wine-buying market for us and we didn't want to miss out on that opportunity this year."

Ms Nolan said the Rutherglen Wine Shop offered 45 wines from 16 different member wineries.

She said Rutherglen in the City - Re-Imagined would also offer a series of wine tastings, wine chats and masterclasses from Rutherglen winemakers on Saturday, November 28.

"People can order their wines online now and have them ready to taste on the day with the different winemakers," Ms Nolan said.

"Buyers will be sent a link to the masterclasses and tastings with winemakers.

"It will be a really interactive experience where people can talk about the wines and ask any questions of the winemakers."

The online Rutherglen Wine Shop will run until Sunday, November 15.

It will re-open on November 28 for the series of talks, masterclasses and wine sales.

Rutherglen's Winery Walkabout went online in June when Winery Walkabout the House showcased the region.
