Winless since this year's Country Championship qualifier in February, Sky Call benefited from a clever front-running ride by jockey Jordan Mallyon.
Mallyon pounced on the early lead and rated Sky Call ($10) to perfection.
Beer revealed the addition of blinkers had helped spark his five-year-old mare to return to winning form in the $27,000 Stan Sadlier Stakes, (1400m).
"The first time she ever wore a set of blinkers was at 7am this morning," Beer said.
"To be honest I didn't know if they would work or not.
"Jordy rode her a treat and if he let her slide another half-a-length, she would have got going with those shades on for a different result.
"I'm rapt for Jordy because he has done a stack of work with this mare."
