Seven Scots School students charged over allegations they held a younger boy against his will before assaulting him have been adjourned-off while the boys complete their HSC exams.

The cases of five of the students went before Albury Local Court on Tuesday and two before the Children's Court.
Defence lawyer Mark Cronin told registrar Wendy Howard during the list call-over that he had decided to not yet explain the court process in detail, for now, to his clients.

Mr Cronin, representing the five before the Local Court and one in the Children's, said it would not be fair to overload the students with so much information.
The seventh boy, charged before the Children's Court, was represented by solicitor Mike Eden
He made an identical submission to Mr Cronin that there be an adjournment to November 24.

The Border Mail has chosen not to name the students being prosecuted before the Local Court because this could inadvertently identify those before the Children's Court.
None of the students were required to appear in court on Tuesday.
Their matters follow the recent mention of the case of Scots School basketball coaching director Sam McDonald, 36, who police have alleged was in the presence of the students when the alleged assault took place.
It is claimed the victim, 14, was detained at the school on August 11 between 8.45pm and 9.15pm.
McDonald is facing three charges, including taking and detaining the student to obtain a psychological advantage, leading to actual bodily harm.
The court was told on Tuesday that the students each faced domestic violence-related charges of take in company with the intention of gaining an advantage occasioning actual bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others.
