Last year's event attracted around 250 players, but the uncertainty created by the coronavirus has cut that back to 20 teams.
However, the theme for the competition, which is now in its fifth year, hasn't changed with the emphasis on fun.
"This is the chance for little Johnny to play with mum and dad or to get your work colleagues together and the ability doesn't matter, the magic is there's no grades," coordinator Dan Hogg said.
To highlight the event's inclusiveness, the six-week program doesn't have finals.

"We want to get people out there and be active, be social, and during COVID it's really important to get people back into sport," Hogg said.

Players get at least two games per night at Alexandra Park North from 6pm.
