The silver Holden Commodore was extensively damaged by the blaze, which started off McEachern Court about 4pm.
Dark smoke could be seen in the vicinity of the fire, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus while extinguishing the flames.
The Holden was gutted, particularly in the middle of the vehicle.
Detectives conducted a doorknock and are seeking witnesses.
CRIME NEWS:
The vehicle wasn't reported stolen and was towed from the scene.
"We're still trying to piece together what's happened," Detective Senior Constable Jason Brown said.
"If people saw anything, please give us a call."
The car in Sunday's incident appeared to have been dumped in a remote area before being set alight.
