Flames spread into the roof but didn't cause major damage, with smoke noticed by a passerby.
Specialist fire investigators attended the home on Thursday in a bid to determine the cause of the fire.
The investigators confirmed the incident was suspicious.

Detective Senior Constable Sarah Patrick urged anyone driving past the area at the time of the blaze, or anyone with video footage, to contact police.
"We're still conducting enquiries," she said
A damaged window was visible at the scene of the incident.
