The Stay, Go Further drive begins this week to coincide with Melburnians being able to travel into country Victoria from Monday.
It includes a video debuting on Tuesday that depicts Billson's Brewery, Bridge Road Brewers, Bright Brewery and a Beechworth streetscape as well as Mount Buffalo and Cofield wines of Rutherglen.
The North East was chosen, along with Gippsland, as the regions for the initial promotion due to both being badly affected by bushfires last summer which curtailed tourism.
Visit Victoria chief executive Brendan McClements said the drive, which will also include print, radio, digital and social media promotions, was about playing on the desire to travel.
"Our campaign tells the stories of the products and experiences that exist within our borders and we trust it will inspire Victorians to make some new discoveries," Mr McClements said.
