The challenge is now forming a competitive unit following an influx of new players, according to Miners' veteran Chris Hartshorn.
"We have trained a lot together but are still getting to know each others' game," Hartshorn said.
"Hopefully it clicks pretty soon.
"Everyone can improve on our last two performances but we only have two players over 21 so it might take a bit of time."
Barnawartha-Chiltern take on Bethanga at Barnawartha on Saturday with the Miners desperate to make more runs.
"We started well against Eskdale but threw it away with three run outs in one over," he said.
"Our bowling has been spot on but we need to work on our batting."
In-form Baranduda play Mt Beauty, Yackandandah host Kiewa and Dederang meet Eskdale.
