The railway porter cottages on Young Street being auctioned formed part of a suite of works in the early 1880s to coincide with the railway line being extended to Albury.
Other works included in the contract let to J. Stevens in 1880 was for construction of a temporary station building, crew barracks, station master's residence and carriage shed.
The station master's residence is now home to Albury's visitor information centre.
The cottages original use was by railway porters during overnight stays from Sydney.
They are both two-storey townhouses with three bedrooms, one bath and a large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining.
Their design is a mirror image of eachother with the two townhouses maintaining their original period features and detail.
Bonnici & Associates First National are conducting the auction from 10.30am.
