A WATCH and act warning has been issued for a bushfire burning out of control near Deniliquin.

The alert was issued in the early hours of this morning as firefighters from the Rural Fire Service responded to the blaze burning about seven kilometres south of Deniliquin and to the east of the Cobb Highway.
NSW Rural Fire Service stated that a westerly wind change has moved across the fireground pushing the fire towards the Edwards River.
The bushfire has, so far, burnt about 1000 hectares.
