Landing the signature of league and cup-winning coach Daniel Vasilevski for a third season is a big tick for new Wangaratta president Dom Testoni.
The Griffith export recently moved to the region to take on the CEO's position at Benalla Council and has replaced Travis Whiley in the top job.
"We're lucky with not only Daniel, but we've got some good coaches across all grades," Testoni said.
"Having someone like Daniel with his experience at the top flight provides a level of confidence through the whole club if you can attract someone of his talents.
"The young kids look up to him and the players who play under him really look forward to his leadership and experience."
When in Griffith, Testoni served as president of Hanwood Football Club and is keen to the lead the AWFA outfit for the first time.

"They've really welcomed our family into the club and Trav (Whiley) and the rest of the team have done a tremendous job last year and into this year," Testoni said.
"Even prior to that, it just seems to be a really solid and stable club which is well supported.
"The quality of players coming through in the senior grades, both men and women, is fantastic.
"Whether people choose to go on to higher aspirations or not, they're still exposed to tough competition, week in, week out."
Kristy Mellor has stepped up as vice-president with the majority of committee positions filled.
