TALENTED Corowa all-rounder Ben Mitchell has taken out the Bob Jackson Medal as Riverina's best player at the NSW Country Championships.

Mitchell played a starring role as the side won its three matches to claim the southern pool title.
"Ben probably hasn't shown here what he's capable of yet but he was unbelievable at the weekend," coach Trent Ball said.
"He and Nathan Brown batted and bowled really well together.
"They were fantastic."
Brown and Mitchell grabbed eight and six wickets respectively with Mitchell making a matchwinning 47 not out against Western on day two.
It was Riverina's first victory since 2003 when Keiran Knight, Greg Daniel and David Castello played.
Riverina will play the winner of the northern pool in February with Newcastle shaping as a likely opponent.
