Divisions within Wodonga Council ranks were still simmering on Monday night when Cr Libby Hill raised concerns about a colleague being overlooked for a spot on the Two Cities, One Community working group alongside Albury councillors.

The appointments to committees were tabled at the first meeting of the recently elected council after being decided on in a behind closed doors, briefing session leading up to the meeting.
Other councils including Albury and Indigo vote on committee appointments in open council.

The mayor and two councillors from each council are elected to the working group with Wodonga mayor Kevin Poulton joined by Cr Graeme Simpfendorfer and Cr John Watson.
Cr Hall said Cr Mildren should have been on the Two Cities, One Community working group.
"It is a loss for us and the committee for him not to have been given a position on this committee," she said.
"Especially in light of his experience in planning and economic development.
"It's my view he would have been a real asset to that committee and it is a shame he has been overlooked."
Meanwhile, council last night accepted a tender from Enviro Culture Services worth $552,166 for the Gateway Island Murray River Walking Trail project linked to the Albury-Wodonga Regional Deal.
The project has been jointly funded by the federal and state governments with a 5.2km all-weather all abilities walking trail loop to be created.
