Albury Wodonga Health released its latest visiting policy on Wednesday which included an extra person allowed in the birth suite.
Previously only the partner or one support person was allowed to be present during the birth.
Other updates include visiting hours being extended in most areas, there is no longer a requirement to nominate visitors and, in most cases, additional visitors are now permitted.
AWH said the update was in line with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services announcements.
