Part-owner Allan Endresz said his star galloper is expected to bounce back to full fitness after an operation to relieve the galloper of kissing spine.
Kissing spine is a relatively common condition that can affect the vertebrae in a horse's back.
Endresz said the vet, Ben Ahern, who performed the operation, rated it one of the worst cases of kissing spine he had seen.
"I couldn't be happier how the operation went," Endresz said.
"But there was a little bit of concern that crept in surrounding the seriousness of the injury.
"The vet, Ben, rates each case on a scale of one to ten with ten being the worst.
"Al rated a ten with six vertebrae with three almost fused, one almost touching and a couple of the others really bad.
"Apparently Ben told David Vandyke that when the results of the scans came back.
"But David didn't pass on the information which is disappointing but the main thing is 'Al' is back feeling good."
