Mark Toll helped weld some of the ramps and has been taking his kids to lessons for two years now.
"Memphis was the first one to have his birthday party at Al's, and they get lessons every week," he said.
"A park of this size is going to do a lot for Wodonga - I think they'll outgrow the place quick again.
"It's such a bigger, better atmosphere.
"Our kids are only young, and there's a special, separate area for them to practice."
Coach Manning McKinnon has helped teach Tilly Toll, 10, how to skate and said she and her brothers would often skate with the older teens.
"Every year we have a competition at the Wodonga skate park and Memphis and Tilly both entered and they did really well," he said.
"Most kids start off not knowing how to skate. We start teaching them where to put their feet, how to push and how to stop - basic stuff.
"They're going to get really god.
"This is so much better than the old park - it's amazing."
Al's Skate Co is now in the building on Melbourne Road vacated by Poolside Wodonga, which has moved to Roadshow Drive.
Sunday was their first day of operation in their business for more than four months, having been classified with gyms under stage three restrictions, and then being forced to stay hut until the end of October.
