The Tom Patton Cup, (1800m) has received a $13,000 boost and will be now worth $40,000.
The feature cup will be held at the SDRA Country Championships Qualifier meeting on Saturday, February 20.
Albury Racing Club has successfully staged the Country Championship Qualifier for the past two years.
Club chief executive officer Steve Keene said the $40,000 feature would be an ideal lead-up for horses targeting the Albury and Wagga Gold Cups held in March and early May.
"The club really wanted to give the trainers and owners that support the MTC regularly, a lead-up option to the Albury and Wagga Cups," Keene said.
"With our facilities at a metropolitan standard, the prizemoney increase will now reflect this and we anticipate attracting an excellent field."
Meanwhile, nominations have been extended for the $32,000 Ted Ryder Cup, (1600m) to be held at Wagga on Christmas eve.
Only 15 entries were received for the feature which comprises 16 runners plus four emergencies.
Border trainers Ron Stubbs (Spunlago), Gordon Yorke (Wyangle), MItch Beer (Sky Call), Norm Loy (Time Of Glory) and Jodie Bohr (Footmark) were all among the nominations for the feature race.
