The Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre showcased its new pool facilities to the public for the first time, with residents giving the development the tick of approval.
"We're pretty impressed with how it looks," Jordan Fisher said.
The multi-million dollar project - which was funded from the Australian Government's building better regions fund, the Victorian government's community sports infrastructure fund and Wangaratta Swimming Club - has been years in the making.
New facilities include an outdoor 50-metre pool with a boom, indoor warm water pool and an outdoor splash pad.
Further work was also done on existing facilities.
Sports and events precinct manager Chloe Davies said it caters for everyone.
"The facility was planned to cover all ages and all stages," she said.
"We have families using the splash park and some older adults participating in our warm water pool.

"Everyone has been incredibly happy with it which has been wonderful."
Wangaratta mayor Dean Rees said the facility would allow the town to host more water based sporting events.
"We can do so many more things in the pool to raise or make money in relation to swimming events, water polo and flipper ball," he said.
"But also just to have a larger, better, more healthy pool for the general public of Wangaratta to enjoy on Saturdays and Sundays."
An official opening is set to be held at the aquatic centre in January.
