The senior triples was played at Albury's Commercial Club with an all-Lavington final locked in after Max Scanlan and Fred Markham skipped their sides to the decider.
However, the performance of the tournament came from another Lavington side as Bill Collins, Gary Webb and Tom Carroll upstaged in-form Howlong bowlers Rob McConnell, Phil Slater and John Boyd, 29-17, in the opening round.
The Howlong trio was considered one of the favourites for the event after they won the Harry Gardiner Memorial triples title at Culcairn the weekend before.
Markham's side finished strongly to edge out Collins, 24-19 in the semi-final.
On the other side of the draw, Scanlan recorded comfortable victories against Lavington's Slawko Kitt (26-14) and Howlong's Les Pilfoot (31-6).
The first two rounds of the president's reserve triples were also played at the Commercial Club with Mike Hodgess to meet Oaklands' Ron Bonat in the final.
Hodgess played pennant at Urana last season, but has returned to Commercial Club and saw off Howlong's Peter Thompson (24-17) and North Albury's Mark Mulcahy (25-17) to reach the final.
In the other semi-final, Bonat found himself 9-1 down against Walla's Russell Paech and didn't hit the front until the final end where he picked up two shots to record a thrilling 20-19 victory.
The final for all three events are to be played on Sunday, January 10.
Meanwhile, the Albury and District pennant season is scheduled to start on Saturday, January 9, for grades four through to seven.
Grade three has been reduced to four teams as Howlong is back to grade four, with round one set for Saturday, January 16.
Lavington hosts North Albury, while Culcairn meets Henty.
