Officers from Murray River Police District highway patrol "got a rude shock" when they stopped the speeding car and discovered the unrestrained human cargo at Holbrook around 11.20pm on Sunday.
"(Police) stopped a vehicle to find three people lying down, facing rearward in the back of the vehicle," police said.
"The rear seats were down and an inflatable airbed between the driver and the passengers."
The car was doing 139km/h on the 110km/h-limited Hume Highway when it caught the attention of police.

When it pulled over, the man behind the wheel pulled out a provisional Victorian licence.
He didn't offer an explanation for the speeding or the passengers not wearing their seat belts, police said.
The driver has been fined for the haste as well as the unrestrained passengers, each of whom were also given a ticket for not wearing their seat belts.
