The club held its inaugural Boxing Day event last year after the long-running tradition came to an end at Wodonga and District Turf Club.
Albury Racing Club chief Steve Hetherton was much happier with the result for the five-race card than 12 months earlier when temperatures soared to almost 40 degrees and saw a crowd of just 500 attend.
While Mr Hetherton didn't have an official attendance figure, it was up on last year.

"It seemed like everyone had a good time and the weather was good, so I can't complain," he said.
"We always had a two-year plan just to see what the numbers were like today.
"Like any day where you're paying wages at a higher rate, being a public holiday, you need to review it very carefully.
"Hopefully it builds and we'll be doing it next year, but we'll need to do a review on the crowd numbers this year.
"I think it will always get bigger, but it's just a matter of how quickly it gets bigger and if you can absorb those costs being a public holiday."
Mr Hetherton said the Boxing Day meet was a good lead-up for the 2021 Albury Gold Cup.
"It was another good day to get people out and socialise," he said.
"We have a meeting in January and a couple in February before we launch into the cup carnival."
Kass Henry travelled from Canberra to the Border to spend Christmas with her family and enjoyed her first experience at the Albury races.
"We always go to the races at Queanbeyan on Boxing Day and we thought we'd continue the tradition down here," she said.
"It's a good environment and good company."
