A smattering of showers are predicted on New Year's Eve on Thursday with a 50 per cent chance rain will fall on the last day of 2020, but only 8 millimetres is expected.
The Bureau of Meteorology have predicted a top of 30 degrees for Thursday and a low of 16 degrees.
Rain is expected again on New Year's Day, with the bureau forecasting a 60 per cent chance of showers with about 8 millimetres expected.

A maximum temperature of 30 degrees is also forecast for Friday, with a minimum of 17 predicted.
While many New Year's Eve events have been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns and gathering restrictions the Albury Harness Racing Club's annual meet will go ahead.
Fireworks will occur at 12am.
Wangaratta Council was due to host a fireworks display but it has since been cancelled.
