The Hawks, who are based in Wollongong, moved to the region on Boxing Day in response to Sydney's COVID-19 outbreak, particularly on the city's Northern Beaches.
While it's difficult to compare the powerhouse Storm, who spent time in Albury during the NRL's COVID break in May and went on to win this year's grand final, with the youthful Hawks, the latter will also look to use the stint as a 'finishing school'.
"Very much so, with all these situations that have occurred with COVID, we discussed this when we first got together, it's taking the high road with everything," coach Brian Goorjian said of the trip.
"Everybody's new and young, we don't have a bunch of guys with wives and kids, they're young guys that are excited to prove themselves and this is a very important season for them.

Goorjian, who's also the Australian coach, says his club will strictly adhere to the COVID protocols, but he's also been one of the sport's great promoters over the past 40 years.

The Sydney Kings are also Border-based for the general quarantine period of 14 days, ahead of the season start on January 10.
