Yorke made a brief comeback to the training ranks as he performed the role of caretaker trainer for Laura McCullum at Cloverlea Hill while she served her four-month disqualification.
Purple Cup will be the talented horseman's final runner when he contests the $22,000 Benchmark 66 Hcp, (1200m).

The Kiwi trainer said he would be thrilled if fledgling jockey Teighan Worsnop could score her first career win aboard Purple Cup.
"I think the horse is a huge chance," Yorke said.
"If Teighan could win I would rate it as one of the biggest thrills of my training career.
"Teighan has an extremely bright future as a jockey and it would make me the happiest man in the world if she could win."
