EARLIER:
Thousands of people in the North East are without power on Sunday evening.
The power went out in the Wangaratta area at about 5.30pm after what AusNet said was an "unexpected interruption to power supply" - just as a storm started to hit the region.
There are 2936 customers affected in Wangaratta, 187 in Killawarra, 97 in Wangandary, 20 in Wilby, and 15 in Bundalong South.
The estimated time for power to be restored was listed as 12.30am Monday morning.
