Musicians disappointed this week's Australian Jazz Convention in Albury had been cancelled held an informal event in Melbourne instead.

Kevin and Sue Bolton organised performances at Oakleigh/Carnegie RSL Club Monday and Tuesday, with nine band slots programmed each day.
Mrs Bolton is an Australian Jazz Convention trustee and the couple has attended every annual convention for 54 years, including Albury's debut hosting last year.
Mr Bolton said they had wondered what they would do once the pandemic ended the 2020 convention.
"I thought, well, there are a lot of other people in a similar situation, twiddling their thumbs, so I'll try and cobble together a little get-together," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I had no idea whether it would work or whether it wouldn't."
He was pleased by the response, which saw about 130 people attend Monday's sessions.
"It was just a case of turn up and see what happens, and it worked," he said.
"We're looking forward to coming to Albury next year."
