Highway patrol members spotted a black Ford Falcon near Boomerang Drive in Lavington on Monday night.
The driver, 30, tried to avoid officers by speeding away but police pulled over the car about 6.45pm.
The man ran from the scene as police conducted a drug test and was caught in a nearby house.
He resisted officers as they tried to arrest him.
They found marijuana and ice on the man and the drug test was positive to meth.
Officers are awaiting further results, but the 30-year-old is facing charges of disqualified driving, resisting arrest and drug possession.
