A new year brings with it new hope and it can't start fast enough for Mount Beauty Speedway.

The motor racing club is thrilled it will kick-off 2021 in style with its annual New Year's Day meeting given the green light.
COVID-19 decimated the schedule with Mount Beauty's last race on March 14.
President Marcus Griffith said the meet was in doubt, but Victorian restrictions eased off just in time.

The biggest threat appears to be the weather, with rain forecast New Year's Day and right across the weekend.
"As the restrictions lightened off, we could start planning it a bit, but at the same time we've got to be ready to cancel it in case things change," Mr Griffith said.
"We've read through the COVID restriction guidelines and there will be signage and everything around.

"We don't tend to get the numbers of Wangaratta and Wahgunyah, so it's not too much of a concern."
Myrtleford Speedway Club will manage motorbike races at the event.
Racing begins at 10.30am with tickets to be purchased at the gate for $15 for adults, with children under 14 free.
