With thunderstorms forecast across the Border and North East for New Year's Eve, the SES is warning campers to be storm ready.

The North East branch of the emergency service issued a warning to those setting up camp and holidaying in the region this long weekend.
"Set up your campsite or caravan well away from trees and branches as they can fall unexpectedly," a SES statement said.
"Secure and tie down your camping gear ready for the forecast gusty winds and heavy rain."
The Bureau of Meteorology have forecast possible thunderstorms bringing damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall across most of Victoria on Thursday, possibly becoming severe across the parts of the Northern Country and North East weather districts.

There will be a top of 33 degrees today for New Year's Eve, with the UV index predicted to reach extreme levels.
There is a 60 per cent chance of showers for the start of the new year with the chance of a thunderstorm.
The BOM is predicting east to southeasterly winds of 15 to 20 km/h tending east to northeasterly during the morning of January 1 then becoming light during the afternoon.
The day is tipped to reach a top of 29 degrees.
While many New Year's Eve events have been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns and gathering restrictions the Albury Harness Racing Club's annual trots meet will go ahead.
Fireworks will occur at 12am and no tickets will be sold at the gate this year so race-goers are encouraged to book ahead if planning to attend.
