Agents, buyers and producers from the northern parts of NSW are a regular feature of the weaner sales which will run for four successive days next week.
But, the Victorian government put a halt on travel into the state from NSW on New Year's Eve except those living in border bubble communities in southern NSW.
"It is not ideal what has happened," Albury-Wodonga Stock Agents Association president Peter Ruaro said.
"But right now we haven't been told who can and can't attend.

"A lot of the inquiry comes from the northern parts of the country where the rains have come like the New England, and those parts who normally make the trek down for the weaner sales each year.
"But if they can't get in it is going to make things very awkward.
"They might have to rely on commission buyers, but some of the agents and some of those purchasers would come down and do their own job traditionally.
"It is all a wait and see proposition right at this point."
Mr Ruaro said buyers also had the option of using established online platforms.
