The Victorian health department have failed to explain why a Thurgoona woman was refused entry into Victoria to attend a funeral in Melbourne.

When asked by The Border Mail to explain why Micaela Collins was told she was unable to attend her uncle's funeral on Tuesday morning, a DHHS spokesperson admitted the current border restrictions are "difficult" but didn't provide an explanation as to Miss Collins' case.
They did however confirm NSW border bubble residents can travel outside the bubble in Victoria provided they haven't been outside the NSW bubble within the last 14 days.

"We know the current border restrictions are difficult and we thank our border communities for their patience in helping us control the spread of coronavirus in Victoria," the spokesperson said.
"Updates are regularly communicated to Victoria Police as the situation evolves."
Border residents have been inundated with conflicting advice and partial explanations since the border was closed.
