Baxter Wilson, the son of experienced all-rounder, Haydon, has taken the club by storm this season with his willingness to compete at senior level.
The 13-year-old has played six games in the top grade thus far and has regularly filled in for B grade in previous years.
He picked up his first A grade wicket against Bethanga in the last game before the Christmas break and put on a 36-run stand with his old man to almost get the Mountain Men home against Mount Beauty in round six.
Baxter's best effort with the bat was 21 against reigning premier Kiewa and he's been able to build on that form in Country Week matches.

He was named captain of the under-13 CAW side and scored an unbeaten 28 and 50 in his side's two wins against Wangaratta Blue and CAW Hume.
"It's something I've always wanted to do (play cricket with my son) and it's actually happening," Haydon said.
"I've just got to be there for the other two to come through now. I'll play until one arm is hanging off I think (laughs)."
Baxter has been selected to face Dederang today, with Eskdale a chance to move inside the top six with victory.
Jesse Kennett returns to the side for the clash, with paceman Liam Tobin also likely to feature in the second half of the season.
Ladder leaders Mount Beauty take on Baranduda, Kiewa and Yackandandah meet in a replay of last season's grand final, while Bethanga hosts Barnawartha-Chiltern.
