The open fours was played at Holbrook and won by the home side of Chris Heather, Gavin Jones, Wolfgang Kaletta and Peter Wornes against a Lavington outfit skipped by Darren Moore, 24-20.
It was a tale of two halves as Holbrook raced to a 6-0 buffer on two ends and led 23-4 after 13.
With their backs to the wall, Moore's side lifted to claim 14 shots in the next six ends to set up the chance of an unlikely victory at 23-18 after 19 ends.
Holbrook stopped the Lavington run with one shot on end 20, and, despite, giving up two on the last end, had enough on the board to finish 24-20 winners.

However, North Albury didn't go away empty-handed as the team of Rob Unsworth, Mark Mulcahy, Troy Campion and Jim Holland, who was in his first district event, defeated a strong Oaklands side, 26-13, to be crowned president's reserve fours champions at Culcairn.
Oaklands' Ron Bonat, Brian Gee, John Danaher and David Evans were quick out of the blocks and had a 5-0 advantage after two ends, but the Hoppers grabbed nine shots on the next two ends to lead 9-5.
From there, they kept Oaklands at bay and finished winners by 13 shots.
The Albury and District pairs events commence on Sunday, January 31.
