Neville Kennedy, 29, handed himself in to police on Monday following the incident about 8am on Sunday.
He allegedly demanded cash but fled empty handed.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He was arrested at the police station and charged with attempted robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
Kennedy faced Albury Local Court on Wednesday.
He did not apply for bail, which was formally refused by magistrate Richard Funston.
The case will return to court on March 23.
