He was recently appointed functions and events manager at Albury Racing Club and started his new role last week.
Meyer played predominantly in the ruck for Wodonga Raiders from 2010-12 and was regarded as one of the premier big men in the competition and was a league representative.
The 34-year-old said he was keen to extend his career but was unsure whether he wanted to commit to the higher standard of the O&M.
"Football is not my main priority at the minute," Meyer said.
"I just want to get settled in my new job and moving house.
"But I'm keen to play and that will work itself out in the coming weeks.
"I'm unsure at what level yet and being 34 now, football is not as big a priority as it used to be.
"So heading bush and playing at a lower level is an option."

While Raiders are the frontrunners to sign Meyer if he decides to play in the O&M, there is expected to be no shortage of clubs keen to recruit the former Williamstown defender.
North Albury is yet to find a replacement for former coach Isaac Muller with a recognised ruckman the calibre of Meyer high on the recruiting wish-list.
The Hoppers have so far failed to land a high-profile recruit and have plenty of room in the budget to land at least one prized signing.
A quality ruckman is also highly sought after by the majority of district league clubs.
Since departing Birallee Park, Meyer has played for junior club Beaconsfield in the The AFL Outer East Premier Division.
The talented big man enhanced his reputation after winning the league medal in 2013-14 and again in 2016.
He also won the clubs best and fairest on four occasions and represented the league.
