A MELBOURNE textile designer who had her first New York Fashion Week show last year has hosted a popup parade in the North East.

On Sunday Tara Whalley visited Yackandandah store Seventh Pocket, which is a stockist of her colourful clothing range.
Whalley's first New York Fashion Week runway show ran during September.
Still in lockdown in Melbourne, Whalley rose about 2am to watch the US show live.
"My label had been going about five years," she said.
"I wasn't sure about the timing of the show in 2020, but I thought 'what am I doing if I don't say yes to this opportunity?'.
"Hopefully next time I do a New York show international travel will be back on and I'll be able to go in person."

Whalley said she was excited to share her designs - which were largely inspired by nature and gardens - with North East residents at the weekend.
"I have been overwhelmed with support for the label during 2020," Whalley said.
