Wangaratta Rovers could emerge as the biggest winner with Sam Murray, Nathan Cooper and Charlie Thompson in the mix for selection.
The Hawks play Lavington (March 28), Albury (April 3) and North Albury (April 10) before the VFL gets underway.
Exciting youngster Nick Murray could also come into calculations if he misses out on a position with Adelaide Crows through the pre-season supplemental selection period.
Lavington's Shaun Mannagh could return to the Panthers depending on commitments with Werribee while Wangaratta's Brad Melville is likely to play at Norm Minns Oval when free at Richmond.
Melville has been outstanding on the track with the Magpies with VFL clubs limited with their pre-season training sessions due to coronavirus restrictions in Melbourne.
Wodonga recruit Josh Clayton could also be available from North Melbourne.
"Their availability will be subject to practice games in the VFL," Wangaratta Rovers operations manager Barry Sullivan said.
"It's never as clear cut as just looking at the two draws.
"We will find out a bit more in the lead-up to round one though."
