Ebony Tierney, 29, had been friends with the woman she attacked but the pair had had a falling out.
Both lived in the same unit complex in Lavington.
Tierney, a mother of one who was pregnant at the time of the incident, and is still expecting, was playing with children at the front of her Oliver Street home on November 3 last year.
The victim walked past with her own children about 4.40pm and was sprayed by the 29-year-old.
"Gee you talk a lot of s---," Tierney told her.
They argued and Tierney again squirted the woman, who ran at her.
Tierney grabbed her by the hair and pulled it and swung her around.
The victim fell to the driveway and the attacker threw three uppercuts into her face while she was on the ground.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The victim tried to push her away with her legs and went back to her unit.
Two witnesses gave statements to police corroborating the victim's version of events.
Tierney, who appeared in Albury Local Court on Monday, was charged with common assault 15 days after the attack.
She appears to have moved from the property, with charge sheets listing a Corowa address as her home.
Tierney said didn't initially intend to spray the woman, which magistrate Richard Funston immediately took issue with.
"Rubbish it's accidental," he said.
"The court hasn't come down in the last shower."
Tierney's lawyer said everything was "back to normal" between the pair, noting it was "words between friends which escalated" into the assault.
Mr Funston told Tierney her behaviour was "no way to treat a friend".
He imposed a 12-month conditional release order without conviction on the single assault charge.
He noted she hadn't been in trouble before and had pleaded guilty at an early opportunity.
