Reid, who signed with the Ovens and Murray club late last year after announcing his retirement from AFL ranks, was honoured along with fellow premiership teammates Heath Shaw, Nathan Brown and Dayne Beams.
Reid played 152 games for Collingwood between 2007 and 2020.
He has relocated to North East and is set to play a huge role in Wangaratta's quest to go one better than in 2019 when the Magpies lost the grand final to Lavington.
"This truly is an honour to be awarded life membership with my premiership teammates," Reid said.
"This is something I'll hold dear to me for the rest of my life."
Reid was hampered by leg injuries towards the end of his AFL career but believes his body will benefit from a less rigorous training regime at Norm Minns Oval.
Wangaratta launches its season against Wodonga Raiders at Birallee Park on April 2.
