The city's pump track at Birallee Park will have a $150,000 upgrade which Wodonga Council chief executive Mark Dixon said would lead to a big expansion.
"Funding for the Birallee Park pump track - of which stage one opened early last year - will fund stage two of the track, a duplication of the track, doubling its size, and include a shade structure, additional seating, water bubbler and landscaping," Mr Dixon said.
The project is one of five worth a total of $2.403 million that have been bankrolled though a roads and community infrastructure program.
The soccer precinct at Kelly Park in west Wodonga scored the largest amount, $406,000.
"(It) will enable stage one and two of this project to be delivered simultaneously and include new female-friendly facilities, two additional changes rooms, a first aid room, public amenities, canteen and store room," Mr Dixon said.
There has been $375,000 to further enhance the cricket hub at Birallee Park with outdoor turf and synthetic cricket nets, a new access roadway and landscaping.

The other two sums $306,950 and $175,000 will go towards extending the Belvoir Park playground and replacing the toilet block at Wodonga racecourse and showground.
Towong Shire has also received money for 10 projects totalling $936,261.
The lion's share, $391,261, has been earmarked for upgrading the eastern end of Towong Street at Tallangatta with drainage works to be done along a 750-metre section beyond the town's police station.
The same town will also benefit from $200,000 to upgrade the grounds and surrounds of its municipal swimming pool and $60,000 for refurbishment of The Triangles toilet block.
Other money is being spent on installing shade sails at the Pelican playground at Tallangatta and Bellbridge's fish sculpture, sealing walking paths at Bellbridge and Eskdale and upgrading the Old Tallangatta lookout.
Under the same program, Greater Hume Council has obtained $1.145 million which is being funnelled into roadworks.
There will be $350,000 spent on drainage works along Culcairn's Balfour Street with disabled access to shops the key improvement.
Gerogery will have $345,745 allocated to underground drainage to mitigate flash flooding.
At Woomargama a 350-metre section of Ferndale Road leading to Tunnel Road will be rebuilt for $250,000 and 200,000 will be spent on resheeting roads west of Walbundrie affected by harvest traffic.
