Daniel Boyton appeared in Wodonga Magistrates Court yesterday from custody charged with the October shooting which left witnesses ducking for cover in the major shopping centre.
His legal representative requested more time to seek instructions from his client on how they would proceed.
Prosecutor Carmela Pezzimenti didn't oppose the adjournment.
Boyton will spend at least another month in custody after magistrate Peter Dunn granted the adjournment until March 11 for a committal mention.
The 27-year-old Wagga man was arrested a short time later at a Wodonga motel and has been in custody ever since.
The incident occurred in broad daylight with multiple witnesses and a small bullet hole was left in the side of a steel support beam.
Police set up an information tent in the shopping centre the next day for members of the public.
Boyton has been in custody since his arrest and did not apply for bail yesterday.
In other court news, the man accused of a string of drive-by shootings in Wodonga last year will also spend another month behind bars. Jamie Leigh Evans 29, will have his matter return to court on March 11.
