Festival committee chairman Jim Didolis confirmed the popular event will go ahead on April 3 and 4 on the back of the Beechworth Hops Festival, March 27 and 28.
"We're really pleased we'll be staging the re-enactment by the Redcoats from The North Eastern Muzzleloaders Inc this year," he said.
"Unfortunately we won't be able to stage the street parade as we normally do but we are hoping components of what we have in the street parade will be on display in and around the Town Hall Gardens at the weekend."
Visitors will be able to see the 20 or so muzzleloaders perform throughout both days (8am to 4pm) in the Beechworth Historical Precinct (located behind the courthouse).
Roads will be closed to allow for live music, food vans, Rotary markets and an egg hunt on Easter Sunday morning.
The Golden Horseshoes Festival celebrates the legend of Daniel Cameron who, in 1855, memorably led a parade through the streets of Beechworth on a horse shod with shoes of real gold.
Cameron, a political candidate to the Victorian Legislative Assembly, proved a hit with the locals who fittingly elected him to the state's first parliament in front of the Star Theatre.
