Two rising Border youngsters will tackle a major development tournament this weekend.
Thurgoona Country Club Resort members Lochie Semmler and Tom Newman will play the Wagga Junior Masters, which is a Jack Newton Junior Golf event, featuring a host of talented players from the NSW and ACT.
Semmler, whose father Marty is a plus two handicapper after a fine football career, which included captaining Holbrook to the 2004 flag, plays off four.
"I've really been focusing on my putting, I've been hitting the ball fairly well but just don't seem to be holing many putts," the 16-year-old said.

"I just try and set up drills that gives consistent ball striking with the putter and also work on distance control, I feel like if I can strike the ball well, I can hole those putts."
