The culvert renewal and replacements works have started on the Bright-Tawonga Road near Bright with the program aiming to reduce the risks of dangerous landslips in north east Victoria.
Crews will undertake essential maintenance across Great Alpine, Mount Buller, Bogong High Plains and Bright-Tawonga roads, to prevent disruptions to the flow of drainage runoff, which can undermine the stability of the road.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The installation of new rock netting, rock-filled cage retaining walls, minor road realignments and earthworks will happen later in the year.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the work will safeguard key routes and prevent future landslips.
